SSNIT Partners with Ministry of Health on Deceased Data

The management of SSNIT has held a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Health (MOH) led by Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the sector minister, at the Pension House in Accra on the collection of vital data of deceased pensioners on behalf of SSNIT.

The meeting had the SSNIT team led by Mrs. Laurette Otchere, Deputy Director General Operations and Benefits, as chairperson. Others were Mrs. Rosemary Sackey, General Manager Benefits, Mr Harold Brookman-Amissah, Pensions Manager, Mrs. Beatrice Osafo, Lump sum Manager, Mr. Michael Quaye, Records Manager and Mrs. Victoria Abaidoo, Customer Services Manager and Ag. Corporate Affairs Manager.

SSNIT as part of its strategies to enable it to deliver on its mandate of paying benefits and survivors’ lump sum promptly and accurately, initiated this collaboration with MOH.

The MOH will be required to assist SSNIT by collecting data on deceased persons in relation to their social security membership and transmission of such data to the Trust periodically.

The management of SSNIT considers this collaboration as a proactive and effective procedure to ensure that the appropriate benefit is paid to the rightful persons when due.

Other members of the MOH delegation were Messrs. Samuel Asah and Sam Amponsah, heads of IPPD and IT respectively of the ministry.
